Research company GfK has taken a look into the current tablet market - a fast-growing industry with a continuing demand for smaller and more compact tablet devices.

In February, the total retail IT market experienced a year on year volume growth of 7%, with a 12% value growth.

Of this, tablet sales grew by a huge 234% over the yearly period, with a value growth of 145%. Smaller tablet devices remain the most popular, with the 7 inch media tablets now accounting for 62% of all tablet sales.
