Disney Announces New Asia-Pacific Deals

Disney-ABC International Television (DAIT) Asia Pacific kicked off the Asia TV Forum today with new drama and comedy series deals with 13 broadcasters in the region, along with its first Southeast Asian agreement on The View and Good Morning America.

he View and Good Morning America will make their Southeast Asian premiere on Velvet, a female-targeted basic cable network recently launched by the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation subsidiary, Creative Programs Inc. (CPI), which has also rolled out the sports offering Balls and the male-skewing Maxxx. The View will broadcast live, while Good Morning America is set to air two hours after its U.S. live premiere. “We are delighted to be starting this new relationship with CPI and to be working with them to bring U.S. content faster to audiences in the Asia Pacific,” said Greg Johnson, the VP of sales at DAIT Asia Pacific. “Not only are we committed to providing our clients with some of the best shows on TV, we also look to enhance the relationship that broadcasters and their audiences have with our programs through earlier delivery.”
